Introduction

Have you ever felt overwhelmed by negative thoughts or trapped in a cycle of self-criticism? It's not uncommon to get caught up in the negative chatter of our minds, but there is a way to break free from this pattern and tap into a higher level of consciousness. In this exercise, we will explore how to tune into your higher mind and discover a more positive and uplifting frequency of thought.

Finding a Quiet Place

The first step in this exercise is to find a quiet place where you won't be disturbed. It could be your bedroom, a park, or any other location where you feel comfortable and can have some privacy. Sit down in a comfortable position and gently close your eyes.

Use Your Breath To Focus Your Nervous System

When we are stressed and anxious, our fight, and flight freeze response becomes activated. This makes it difficult for us to access our higher selves' internal dialogue ( due to ruminations & anxious thinking) and for our bodies to pick up on intuitive messages.

But there's a simple tool we all have: our breath.

Deep breathing activates the parasympathetic nervous system, our body's relaxation response. It counteracts the fight-or-flight state, helping us feel calmer and more centered.

To get started, take a few deep breaths and bring your attention to your breath. Feel the sensation of the breath as it enters and leaves your body. Pay attention to the rise and fall of your chest or the feeling of the air passing through your nostrils. Allow your breath to become your anchor, grounding you in the present moment.

Tuning the Radio Dial

Now, imagine that your mind is like a radio, and instead of tuning into radio stations, you are searching for frequencies of thought. Begin by noticing any negative or critical thoughts that come up. Observe how these thoughts make you feel - do they bring you down, make you feel anxious, or create a sense of heaviness?

Once you have acknowledged these negative thoughts, imagine yourself turning the dial on the radio. Slowly and intentionally, begin to search for thoughts that feel positive, encouraging, and uplifting. These thoughts may be related to your goals, dreams, or anything that brings you joy and inspiration.

Aligning with Your Higher Mind

As you explore these positive thoughts, pay attention to how they make you feel. Do they bring a sense of lightness, peace, or excitement? Take your time to immerse yourself in these uplifting thoughts and allow yourself to align with your higher mind.

Imagine that you are tuning your frequency to match the frequency of your higher mind. Feel yourself becoming attuned to a higher level of consciousness, where clarity, wisdom, and positivity reside. Allow this feeling to wash over you and embrace the power of your higher mind.

Completing the Exercise

When you feel ready, slowly bring your attention back to your breath. Take a few more deep breaths, allowing yourself to come back to the present moment. Gently open your eyes and take a moment to reflect on your experience.

Remember, this exercise is a tool that you can use whenever you feel overwhelmed by negative thoughts or need a boost of positivity. By tuning into your higher mind, you can tap into a wellspring of inspiration, wisdom, and joy that resides within you.

Practice this exercise regularly, and you will find that it becomes easier to shift your focus from negativity to positivity. Over time, you will develop a stronger connection with your higher mind, allowing it to guide you in making choices that align with your true desires and bring you closer to a fulfilling and purposeful life.
